At Ribchester St Wilfrid’s CE Primary School, SMSC refers to the Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development of all our children. It forms an essential part of what is often described as the “hidden curriculum” — the values, experiences and opportunities that shape who our children are alongside their academic learning.
SMSC is not taught as a standalone subject. Instead, it is thoughtfully woven throughout our curriculum, collective worship, and daily school life. It is evident within subjects such as RE, PE and PSHE, as well as within our relationships, behaviour expectations and the nurturing ethos of our church school.
