Pre-School Charges

We would like to inform you of a change to the way St Wilfrid’s offers nursery hours. This is to ensure that we are fully compliant with the current regulations and that we do not exceed the 30 funded hours.

At present, children attend from 8:45am to 3:30pm, with a charge of £2.50 for lunchtime supervision. However, this arrangement creates an artificial break in the day and goes beyond the funded hours allowance.

From September 2026, our nursery hours will be as follows:
• Drop-off: 9:00am via the main office
• For those wanting half days – Collection at 12:00pm from the main office
• For those wanting a full day – Collection at 3:00pm from the main office

For families who require a later collection time, we will continue to offer an optional extension until 3:30pm. This will be charged at £2.50 per day.

We hope this provides a clearer and more consistent structure for all children while ensuring we remain within the statutory requirements.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

If you would like your child to stay from 3pm-3:30pm, please call the school office.

If you get Tax-Free Childcare, you’ll set up an online childcare account for your child. For every £8 you pay into this account, the government will pay in £2 to use to pay your provider.
